Chibi Clash Kingdoms: The World of Endless Possibilities
At the heart of the Chibi Clash universe lies our Kingdoms metagame, a vast and vibrant on-chain world powered by the latest in generative AI technologies. Creating a on-chain world enabling players to build their own kingdom and take part in true ownership over our gaming ecosystem has always been a long term goal for our project. Based on our original estimates, even a stripped-down version of such a world would require at least 3 years of development (and a budget beyond our scope) to complete.
However, every changed last year with the introduction of generative AI and large language models to the general public. By tapping into the power of these models, not only are we able to create such gaming worlds, but build them with a foundation that would enable the dynamic transformation and evolution of the world in ways that even we can not imagine.
We were not the only ones with the vision of creating a dynamic gaming world with generative AI. As our team began prototyping features with the GPT-3 API, we came across a neat demo called AutoRPG, described as a prototype AI gamedev tool which uses multiple agents with simulated personalities to build a world based on natural consequences & relationships. The company behind this tool is Scrypted, a trailblazing startup in the generative AI space founded by gaming industry veterans from the likes of EA, Mythic, and Square Enix. Having known one of the co-founders from my mobile gaming days, I knew this team had what it takes to help us make Kingdoms into something that is truly revolutionary not just for web3, but the entire gaming industry.
In its initial form, the Kingdoms map will consist of 2500 individual land plots forming a 50x50 grid. This will be the largest cohesive game map ever generated by AI. The requirements for creating such a map goes far beyond that of simple utilization of AI models to create a static asset; it requires a dedicated, advance generative AI world-building engine powered by autonomous task agents to enable the seamless creation and transformation of the land and its metadata. Over the past 8 months, we have partnered with Scrypted, who developed and trained this engine (named Artemis), to deliver the results that will soon be unveiled: a beautiful gaming world with unique terrains, buildings, monuments and other features that will serve as the foundation to a meta game with endless possibilities.
Imagine a gaming world where instead of procedurally generated upgrades, you are able to experience transforming a Kingdom in ways that even we as the creators of the project can not imagine. Or a gaming world where an AI NPC can freely roam the lands, interacting with players and evolving in personality and behavior based on such interactions. Or better yet, an AI NPC that can act as a “God” in this world, changing the rules of the game that can similarly be impacted by the actions (or inactions) of the player. This is just a taste of what is now possible with the foundation that has been built for Kingdoms.
The full unveiling of the Kingdoms world map will take place on March 18th. In the beginning, each unique land plot will start as a blank slate; players will soon have the opportunity to own these plots of lands to establish their Kingdoms.
